HEB Named 2013 ‘Sustainable Business of the Year’

We are pleased to announce HEB was named the 2013 ‘Sustainable Business of the Year’ by the Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce at the 15th annual B2B Expo.  The award is given annually to a local business which demonstrates green and sustainable practices, including recycling, reusing, and reducing waste in its business practices.  At HEB, we have a thorough recycling program; utilize electronic communications whenever possible to cut down of paper use; recently installed a solar parking lot light; donate many hundreds of hours of surveying services to land conservation organizations in the area; and volunteer with the MWV Green Team and City of Berlinfor spring clean-ups and environmental efforts.  As president Ed Bergeron said when accepting the award, ‘We try to do the right thing,’ and we appreciate being recognized in this positive and important way.
