Celebrating 50 Years: A Message from the President
As the calendar turns to 2024, it's not just the start of another year, but a significant occasion for all of us at HEB Engineers. We are thrilled to be celebrating our 50th anniversary – an impressive milestone that could not have been achieved without the support of our clients, employees, and community. This golden anniversary symbolizes not just five decades of professional growth and achievements but also the enduring relationships we have built along the way.
It all started back in 1974 in a small garage on Mechanic Street in North Conway Village. Originally named H. Edmund Bergeron Professional Association, the business had a staff count of one and served the Mt. Washington Valley with professional engineering and surveying services. As the organization grew, it merged with a local surveying firm, Burnell Land Surveying, in 1986, laying the foundation for a successful future. From 1986 to 2013, Ed Bergeron and Doug Burnell led HEB to become the most reputable engineering and surveying firm in Northern NH. Beginning in 2013, a new generation of owners began leading the company with Jay Poulin, Josh McAllister, and Chris Fournier taking over for Ed & Doug. Jay, Josh, and Chris have led the growth of the business into a full-service engineering and surveying firm with a strong and dedicated team of employee-owners. With additional ownership coming on board in 2023, and more to come in the future, we are excited to see what the next chapter will hold.

Our employees, past and present, are the true backbone of HEB. From the era of hand-drawn blueprints to today's advanced digital design techniques, their contributions have consistently propelled us forward. Each member of our team, with their unique skills and dedication, has contributed to creating a positive and lasting impact in our community. We are extremely proud of all that we have been able to accomplish together.
Our journey through these five decades has been deeply enriched by our clients and the communities we serve. Their trust and support have been the pillars of our inspiration, pushing us to be better every day. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunities to collaborate on projects that not only challenge us but also allow us to contribute significantly to our field.
