2015 Technical Grant: Plymouth Regional High School Ski Jump
We were excited to be asked to provide design services for the reconstruction of the Plymouth Regional High School Ski Jump through our 2015 Technical Grant program. The old ski jump trestle had deteriorated to the point where the ski jump was no longer safe. HEB worked with Paul King, Norm Leblanc, and other volunteers to design a new timber ski jump trestle to replace the old structure. The new trestle will be constructed with timber poles installed by the NH Electric Coop, lumber beams, joists, cross bracing, and decking installed by CCI Construction. The main platform will be approximately 38 feet high and the jump will have a lower platform that is 13 feet high. The ski jump is currently under construction and expected to be complete by Thanksgiving. New Hampshire is the lone state that offers competitive ski jumping as a high school sport. HEB provided design assistance for the Kennett High jump and is also working to help rehabilitate the historic Nansen jump in Berlin. This Union Leader article explains how volunteers came together to rebuild the Plymouth Regional High School ski jump.
