Environmental Specialist
Overview
Katy joined HEB in 2023 as an Environmental Specialist and brings with her years of experience in wildlife biology and resource management. She complements our growing Environmental Team and assists in the development of environmental assessments, permitting applications, and agency coordination as well as leading our wildlife biology services. Katy’s past experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant for the West Virginia University Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, Field Technician for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Wildlife and Heritage Service, Farm Bill Wildlife Biologist with Pheasants Forever, and most recently as a Research Manager for Tin Mountain Conservation Center.
Bio
Katy earned her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Conservation and Ecology from the University of Delaware in 2015 and her Master of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources from West Virginia University in 2018. She grew up in New Jersey and currently lives in Madison with her partner and dog. Outside of work, Katy is an avid birder and enjoys doing anything outside, including swimming, running, and climbing.
